Welcome back to another Jolly Friday and happy new year everyone!!! I can’t believe it’s another year. Wishing you guys a great and fruitful year ahead. Okay let’s get down to business.

Today’s recipe is beef gravy which is a thickened or lightly thickened sauce either garnished with meat and vegetables or made plain. It can be served with rice, mashed potatoes…etc. This dish can be made in several ways using several ingredients but to know how to achieve this particular recipe, then please keep reading or watch the video at the end of the post. Guess what? This meal is one pot, so easy to make and gets ready under just a couple of minutes. What else are you looking for????

Beef Gravy

Ingredients

  • Seasoned and marinated meat
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Shrimps
  • Sausages
  • 1 tbsp Coconut oil
  • ½ tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Curry powder
  • ½ tsp Ginger powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Corn flour (or all purpose flour)
  • 1 medium sized red bell pepper
  • 1 medium sized green bell pepper
  • 1 Knorr stock cube
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil to a heated pan and allow to melt if solid.

  2. Add and cook seasoned and marinated beef on low heat, allowing the meat cook with its water content.

  3. Once meat is almost tender, add spring onions and scotch bonnets then stir.

  4. After 2 minutes, add shrimps, sausages and bell peppers (red and green) then cook for extra 2 minutes before adding the vegetables of your choice (I used broccoli, cauliflower and carrots). 

  5. To season, add chilli powder, paprika, curry powder, ginger powder and garlic powder. Stir and allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes before adding more water.

  6. To thicken gravy, mix 1 tbsp of corn flour (or all purpose flour) with water and add to the sauce on low heat, stir immediately to prevent lumps from forming in your gravy.  

  7. Add 1 cube of maggi or salt to taste and allow to simmer for 6 to 10 minutes on low heat. 

  8. Food is ready!!! Enjoy!!! 😋
