The Reveal: What Some International Students Abroad actually face……(part 1)

Hey people!!!

I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I don’t blog on the day I say I will. Instead I blog on the days I get inspired. And today what inspired me was/are the people I’ve come to meet so far.

Firstly you might be asking what is there to reveal? or what is this one talking about? It’s not that deep, I just want to tell you some of the facts or things I’ve seen and heard from international students abroad.

What they actually face……

Academic: Most schools abroad have made it impossible for international students to get away with just 3.50 G.P.A. In some schools, to get into a faculty, you have to get up to 4.50 G.P.A or more while the citizens of the country have to get like minimum of 2.50 G.P.A And let me tell you, to get just 2.00 is not soaking gari!!! or eating watermelon(I know that was so off….complete it for me) but it’s really not easy. Although I like the fact that we are challenged that way because at the end of the day it makes us become better at what we do and more hardworking. But eh E no easy. Like for real, it takes alot of effort but yeah why else are we there.

Bills: okay I know i have mentioned something like this before, but let me just tell you. Right from the school fees you pay. You”ll know this life is not beans. All dem bad belle people, don’t start saying who sent you and all that now. The thing is every parent will always want the best for their children. Some parents go the extra mile just to raise their children to become something in life. It is not that, you can’t do all this in your country. But when they feel there are more opportunities somewhere, they look for ways to make their children grab them. Forget parents are trying. Wherever you school, whatever country you are, whether it’s your country or not. If your parents or even guardians sent you to school and are paying your fees, that one is more than enough to thank them but most especially the baba God(Almighty God) that made it possible. Back to bills……..BILLS!!! BILLS!!! BILLS!!!  After school fees trouble, we come to accommodation. If you decide to live on some of the campuses in some of these schools abroad, you’ll think you’re living in a hotel. A very exotic one. Now before you start thinking otherwise, I know there are some other school that are cheaper than others for international students but coming to think of it. It still isn’t cheap. When you convert the money to your country’s currency, you’ll know how far. Even if you live off campus, it’s still not all that cheap. I mean this might not apply to every international student but there are people like this. Then when they bring phone bill, you’ll start weeping. Oh and did I forget to mention Textbooks!!!! You’ll be buying textbooks that can even pay your house rent for two months. Sigh. There are more things I want to talk about but I’ll stop here for now because I still have a 2000 words essay to write 🙂 and assignments to complete 🙂 plus I haven’t had my morning shower 🙂 (TMI, I know) I might end up completing this today but we’ll see. Till then, tell me what you think, if you’re an international student. Has it been easy for you or even if you’re not, tell me what you think….

I want to hear from you so leave your comments below!!!

All the same, have a blessed day beautiful people. 🙂

Remember this does not apply to everyone. It is based on my opinion and some other students’ opinions.

Thank you.
